How this range is calculated

Each service's range is calculated at build time directly from this directory's published listings: for every provider offering the service, we look up its HQ country against 10 tracked cost-benchmark countries (typical blended hourly-rate bands running from offshore India and the Philippines through onshore UK and US) and average the bands of the providers whose country matched. The result is a real, data-derived range rather than a flat industry rule of thumb.

The main limitation is match rate: HQ country is free text on each listing, and only 10 countries currently have a benchmark band, so some providers' countries won't match one of them and are excluded from the calculation — the match count shown below each range discloses exactly how many of a service's published providers were actually used. A service with zero matches shows "insufficient data" rather than a range built from too little to be meaningful.

Frequently asked questions

How is this quote range calculated?
For each service, we take every published provider offering it, match its HQ country against 10 tracked cost-benchmark countries with typical blended hourly-rate bands, and average the low/high of the countries that match. It is a real, data-derived range — it updates automatically as more providers are added and verified, not a fixed industry rule of thumb.
Why does a service say 'insufficient published data'?
That means either no published provider currently offers the service, or none of their HQ countries matched one of the 10 benchmark countries we track — HQ country is free text on a listing, so typos, abbreviations, and countries with no cost tier are excluded rather than guessed at. Request a custom quote instead; providers responding through the form aren't limited to that match set.
Is the range shown a guaranteed price?
No. It is an indicative range based on delivery-country labor costs, not a quote from any specific provider. Actual pricing depends on scope, team seniority, volume, and the pricing model (hourly, per seat, per transaction, or outcome-based) — use the range to budget, then request quotes for an exact number.
