About DXC Technology | Impossible Delivered | Enterprise Technology & Innovation Solutions
## DXC Technology: Enterprise IT and BPO Services at Scale
DXC Technology is a global IT services and business process outsourcing company headquartered in the United States, operating across virtually every major industry vertical. The company was formed from the merger of CSC and HP Enterprise Services, and today it runs mission-critical systems for some of the largest organizations in the world. If you are evaluating DXC for an outsourcing engagement, understand upfront what you are dealing with: this is an enterprise-tier vendor built for large, complex, regulated clients. It is not set up for a 10-seat pilot or a startup looking to hand off tier-1 support cheaply.
### What DXC Actually Does
DXC operates across three broad delivery pillars: IT services, advisory and transformation, and business process services. On the BPO side specifically, the company offers Contact Center Experience BPO, Finance and Accounting BPO, and Banking BPO. These are not bolt-on offerings. DXC has purpose-built platforms and delivery infrastructure for each. Contact center work runs through their managed operations model, which increasingly integrates agentic AI, meaning automation handles routine interactions while human agents handle judgment-intensive work. Finance and Accounting BPO covers the standard scope: accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliation, reporting, and transaction processing. Banking BPO sits on proprietary platforms including CoreIgnite and Hogan, which are core banking systems DXC manages for financial institutions.
Beyond the BPO lines, DXC offers managed IT services, cloud and infrastructure, cybersecurity (including a dedicated Agentic Security Operations Center), workplace services, application modernization, and SAP and Oracle managed services. Their DXC OASIS product is the current flagship for managed IT, designed to deliver human-plus-agentic operations in what they call no-fail IT environments. They have also announced a partnership with Anthropic to embed Claude-based agentic AI into mission-critical client environments, including training large numbers of forward-deployed engineers on AI integration.
### Industries and Verticals
DXC covers a wide vertical spread: financial services (banking, capital markets, insurance including life and annuity, property and casualty, and reinsurance), healthcare, life sciences, public sector, aerospace and defense, automotive, manufacturing, energy, utilities, travel and transportation, and technology and media. The insurance vertical is a particular strength, with the Assure platform specifically built for insurance carriers. If you are an insurer looking to outsource policy administration, claims processing, or finance and accounting functions, DXC has deeper domain infrastructure than most generalist IT firms. Same for banking: CoreIgnite and Hogan are not generic platforms, they are core banking engines with decades of deployment history.
Public sector and defense are also genuine competencies, not just checked boxes. DXC has longstanding government contracts and the compliance infrastructure that comes with them.
### Delivery Model and Scale
DXC operates globally, with delivery centers across the United States, Europe, Asia Pacific, and other regions. The company supports clients in multiple languages, including English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, and Portuguese, which reflects genuine multi-region delivery capacity, not aspirational marketing. Their pricing model for most engagements is managed service or per-seat, with larger transformational deals structured as multi-year fixed contracts. You are unlikely to get a simple hourly rate out of DXC. Engagements are complex to scope and price, and the commercial structure typically involves a statement of work with defined SLAs, governance layers, and transition plans.
For context on cost: enterprise IT outsourcing at this scale does not benchmark against offshore BPO rates of $8 to $14 per agent hour. DXC's fully loaded delivery cost for managed services typically reflects the infrastructure, compliance overhead, and management layers built in. Buyers should expect pricing discussions to involve multiple stakeholders on both sides and a multi-week scoping process.
### Compliance and Security
For regulated industries, DXC's compliance posture is a genuine differentiator. They operate under frameworks relevant to financial services, healthcare (HIPAA), and government (various federal compliance standards). Their cybersecurity practice includes Zero Trust architecture, cyber risk and compliance services, and digital identity management. If you are a hospital system, a bank, or a defense contractor, the compliance infrastructure matters as much as the service capability, and DXC has both.
### My Take as an Editor
DXC is the right conversation to have if you are a large enterprise with complex, regulated, multi-process outsourcing needs and the internal procurement maturity to manage a vendor of this size. The sales and implementation cycles are long, the contracts are intricate, and the governance requirements are real. That is not a criticism, it is just the reality of enterprise-tier outsourcing.
Where I would be careful: DXC's scale means your engagement might sit inside a very large portfolio, and the attention you get from senior delivery staff depends heavily on your contract size and your own ability to manage the relationship. I would ask specifically who will own your account day to day, how escalation works, and what the QA reporting cadence looks like at the process level, not just aggregate SLA numbers.
The AI integration story with Anthropic and the OASIS platform is worth evaluating seriously if you are a large financial institution or insurer considering managed IT. But I would pressure-test the maturity of those deployments in client references before treating them as production-ready across your entire environment. Confirm current headcount, delivery center locations for your specific process, and all-in pricing structure on your first scoping call. DXC is a serious vendor for serious enterprise buyers. It is probably not the right fit if you need speed to deploy, flexibility on contract size, or a vendor who can stand up a team in 30 days.
